INDIANA LITTLE LEAGUE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS
* The first documented proof of Little League districts in Indiana comes from reports on Wikipedia that Little League introduced regions in 1957 and fact that the first Indiana State Tournament was also held in 1957. This tournament featured the champions of Districts 1 through 8 according to the Unpage Publications website. Unpage is also the source for the creation years of districts 9 through 14.
It is clear however that Little League started in Indiana before 1957. Indiana’s first Little League World Series participant was a team from Lafayette in 1949. A team from Whiting also represented Indiana in the World Series in 1952. Various leagues in Indiana list their first charter with Little League being prior to 1957.
Research continues in an effort to find factual specifics about the early days of Little League in Indiana and this site will be updated when verifiable information is obtained.
